Four Miami-Dade police officers in the Southwest Miami Dade were involved in a shooting, resulting in two officers injured.
The shooting occurred at 11 a.m. in the area of S.W. 280 St and S.W. 143 Court. In a brief statement given by Public Information Officer Lt. Frank O’Brien, the suspect has been identified as Shawn LaBeet, a young black male last seen leaving the area in a white Honda Accord. There is no information as to where the suspect was heading, and officers are not sure if the suspect is armed.
Eyewitness information misled police to identify the subject as 30-year-old white male Kevin Wehner.
“Kevin Wehner is my nephew. Kevin Wehner lives in Jacksonville, FL.,” said John Wehner, an uncle living in New York City.
